Reminiscing on Summer Nights and John J’s Tiki Bar...

I’ve been looking back on pictures from this summer and looking forward to the new year and trying to work out what my new year’s resolution should be.

I quickly realized that I didn’t share this snapshot of John J’s Tiki Bar at the Graduate Hotel from my short stay in Lincoln summer... And also how busy I’ve been in these last six months... And how much I did enjoy putting together my thoughts on these things.

I wonder if I’m capable of making this project (Blog? Journal?) an acceptable form of “me” time? Does this count as spending time away from work and chores at home to take time to reflect on these things that I like?

I’m considering making time for this a part of my new year’s resolution. I often struggle with making time for me. This time at John J’s was probably one of the last “me” time moments I had in these last months! There I had an entire afternoon, surrounded by plants, with a view of one of my favorite downtown cities, a complementary glass of rosé (more on this in a minute), and a good ebook. When I posted this on my personal instagram, I captioned it, “A few of my favorite things.” And I sooo meant it.

Also if you are a guest of the hotel, select wine and beers are complementary... so... yes I definitely recommend this place.
