Last weekend, I had the pleasure of visiting Boss Rambler for the first time. As only a visitor to Bend, Oregon, I probably would not be expected to know a lot about the breweries in town and their reputations. After all, I don’t actually drink beer (oops) and I’ve only been to Bend once before and two years ago...

I do, however, know someone on the inside: my brother. He works in the industry there and earlier this spring he spoke a lot about a new bar opening up called Boss Rambler. Now, I don’t know what the name signifies, or what it was going to be all about, heck I don’t even drink beer! But I knew that when it was complete it was going to make an impression on the beer drinking community.

So of course on our drinking tour of Bend, we made a point to stop at Boss Rambler. I had been following them on instagram and checking the progress so I wasn’t completely surprised when we walked in, but the hard work that had gone into the place was evident. The owners definitely chose their style and ran with it. White shiplap walls, comfortable mid century furniture, 70s inspired accent colors and motifs: this place has style.

Every way you turn is a photo opportunity which definitely appeals to the many tourists that Bend hosts, especially in the Summer season. Their new summer beverage: the mimosaveza was on tap and certainly delivered the sweet summer vibe we had been searching for and turned out to be a favorite among our party.

Boss Rambler definitely made an impression on me. I love to see when people take pride in the design of their space and put in the hard work and budget to achieve their own unique design aesthetic. Even as a non-beer drinker I found myself a home there for a bit on our trip. And I’d love to make time to come back soon. -C
