Surveying Downtown

My introduction to the design industry began with surveys. I worked at an architecture firm that got its start in field surveys and because of my background in Revjt from school I was a good fit for their survey team. Sometimes there was a comfort in doing same work day in and day out but after a time I knew I wanted to branch out and begin to do real design work.

At my current job, I do get to that real design work! Occasionally, part of that real design work means working with an existing building and an existing building means a field survey. Initially this one was something I was dreading, but once I got into the groove of it it was pretty relaxing. Don’t get me wrong, it was hard work... but sometimes I find it comforting to document exactly what’s there without worrying about what comes next yet.

The view wasn’t too bad either.
