Design Decisions

I want to start by saying that I'm intentionally not sharing more of this... yet... but here is a sneak peek at a carpet tile/ LVT transition that I got to check on a couple weeks ago.
This shot right here means a LOT to me. I've only been a certified Interior Designer for 2 years now and a Registered Interior Designer about a year and a half and I can actually say that I designed this. I ordered the samples. I laid out the (DIY on the floor by my desk) mock up. I tried different color schemes. I thought about the end user. (Hiding spilled coffee was a concern and I mean when is it not??) I helped to develop a design concept. And really all the other material design decisions followed the selection of this carpet.
The design concept related taking an existing traditional office space with dark cherry wood and transitioning it into a contemporary style. We knew we couldn't get rid of all the cherry... So the decision was made to add another wood tone. And to use dark carpet to complement the cherry (and hide the inevitable spills.)
This particular carpet is Milliken from the Free Form collection. This is one of my favorite carpet collections right now because there are literally 20 different styles in 12 different color ways. All of the styles coordinate beautifully with each other. Even across color ways, these tiles truly transition nicely.
I don't know when or if I'll have another opportunity like this - to make a design decision. Especially about flooring. But I'm almost itching at the opportunity to explore this carpet collection again.
